Made Right Here clothing launches
This month will see the launch of a new label created specifically to defy the offshore relocation of Australian manufacturing. Fashion consultancy Australian Fashion Partners (AFP)'s aptly named ‘Made Right Here' brand will launch mid-February.
AFP director Serena Beirne said the Made Right Here range comprised high quality, price pointed children's basics including denim, tees, dresses, leggings and pants. Targeting infants to two year olds, the range would be manufactured locally and use Australian fabrics wherever possible.
Made Right Here will launch at a special event during Fashion Exposed on 15 February, she confirmed, adding that the brand will initially target the independent and boutique retail sector.
"We're starting with childrenswear, but the longer term strategy is to provide wearable, quality clothing for all the family."
Dominic Beirne, managing director of ‘Made Right Here' and director of AFP, said if consumers wanted to make a responsible choice about keeping jobs in Australia they needed the option to buy Australian made.
"Despite what some major Australian-owned clothing companies claim, it is still possible to support Australian jobs and provide realistically priced, high quality children's basics right here in Australia," he said.
