
Finalists announced revealing hot new names from Australia and New Zealand
Concluding the first round of judging, FASHION EXPOSED is pleased to announce the names of the 12 up-and-coming fashion designers set to compete in this season’s Debut competition.
Now entering its 9th season, Debut continues to provide support for talented new names and offer an invaluable launch-pad for independent designers hoping to gain recognition in this highly competitive industry.
For the thousands of retailers and buyers attending the 2010 event, Debut, will more importantly provide a unique opportunity to preview new names that have differentiated themselves through unique design, innovation, professionalism and originality.

conform and complyFormed in 2008 by designer Richard Wiles to create bags that are 'the same but different'. With a background in architecture, Richard has developed a special edge to his bags, with the forms created working in three dimensions and making them approachable to all ages. |

Dolly RockersBelinda-Jayne (BJ) Cole is one of the newest "statement" jewellery designers to emerge in Australia. From a lover of vintage jewellery and working over 10 years as a successful accessories designer and buyer for some of Australia's and NZ's leading fashion companies, she began her own jewellery label Dolly Rockers. All her jewellery is handmade and displays magnificient workmanship. Her couture fashion inspired jewellery features rare and unique 1940's and 1970's materials reworked for a contemporary look. Each piece is a statement in its own right and a true delight to wear. |

MeadowlarkTogether in their label Meadowlark, Claire Hammon and Greg Fromont balance innovation and wearability in fine jewellery that is covetable and collectable with no compromise on qualiry or style. danielle margaretdanielle margaret's love for all things luxurious helps create her feminine bespoke pieces. Her attention to intricate detailing and complex craftsmanship combine with form flowing silhouettes to produce edgy, elegant designs which have a sexy womanly aesthetic. |

e'senkE'senk is an exploration of the female form through draping, colour, couture, and textile development. The label focuses on the relationship between prints and design treating fashion as an artwork for the body that can inspire emotion, imagination and thought. |

Eve of AdamEve of Adam is the lovechild of Sydney-born, Perth-based designer Lauren Hung. Lauren ventured across the Nullabor in 2008 aged 18 to perservere her dream of entering the fashion industry. During her studies in journalism/fashion, Lauren crossed paths with fellow Sydney-sider and journalism/public relations student Jessica Higgs. An instant business chemistry inspired the pair to launch into the world of fashion design creating Even of Adam, a young, adventurous label encapsulating the free spririted generation of today through the artistic expression of fashion. |

SatuSatu is a Finnish word meaning Fable, this sets the perfect pretense in which to tell stories through design. Satu is based on the freedom of creative inspiration. Drawing upon influences such as music, photography, travel, popular culture and storytelling have been at the heart of the label since its inception in 2008. |

VoyageurErin Grant, designer of the new and exciting high-end travel label, Voyageur, successfully transforms her love of travel and cluture into wearable, contemporary fashion. Although only just graduated, Erin has won numerous fashion awards and has been flown to Melbourne and the UK to be judged by industry professionals. |
Having qualified in these key areas, Debut finalists will present their
spring/summer collections to a panel of high profile industry experts
for the chance to win a share in a prize pool in excess of $20,000.
Additionally, each will receive an individual location at FASHION
EXPOSED next season.
Debut will be a key feature of FASHION EXPOSED, co-located with the AUSTRALIAN SHOE FAIR and Bags & Accessories Fair from 14-16 February 2010 at the Sydney Exhibition Centre.
Marking a noteworthy shift from previous fairs, Avant Garde will this season be celebrated as a standalone feature at FASHION EXPOSED and will no longer be included as a category in Debut.
