My brand Kira Pizzingrilli is:
An Australian based women’s clothing and swimwear brand. With a focus on ethical production onshore, the brand reflects a coastal lifestyle with an Aussie 90’s beach aesthetic. Our pieces are designed with a day to night wearability to suit the varied lifestyles of the modern woman.
Before I launched it, I was:
In my early 20’s at the better end of a four year fashion design diploma and wondering what the heck to do next! I interned for a variety of Australian fashion labels. Working with their head designers was so inspiring to me as a budding young fashion designer. To see strong creative women in control of their lives and businesses made it feel like a realistic goal for me.

The collection at Fashion Exposed will include: Feminine pieces with a subtle sports luxe influence.
A range of women within the market, from a more adventurous fashion savvy shopper to those with a more conservative style. They are fashion conscious, and look for pieces that compliment a classic feminine silhouette whilst maintaining a modern design aesthetic- which is exactly what my label offers. They do not compromise quality for price. It is important to them to be well presented and to stay current in their style.
The brand's point of difference is that:
Every print is a unique ‘Kira Pizzingrilli’ design, created by myself to add originality and complement each collection. I create my prints by utilising a mix of original paintings and sketches which are then refined on photoshop. I love this process as it is such a personal touch, you are really putting a piece of yourself out there! Also all of our pieces are produced ethically in Australia, something I’m really proud of.
The collection at Fashion Exposed will include:
Feminine pieces with a subtle sports luxe influence. There is the usual ‘Kira Pizzingrilli’ mainstays- party dresses, relaxed pant suits and long line jumpsuits. I have also focused on creating a cohesive collection that can be layered and tailored to suit different looks.
My favourite piece from the collection is:
A long line jumpsuit in our original print designs. It is such a versatile piece, as it can be worn over a plain white t-shirt for a casual daytime look or with a bare back for a statement evening look.
The wholesale price points for the range start from:
$40.00 for basics with a point of difference, to the more detailed party dresses and event wear which will be up to $220.00.

Unique laces in neutral black and white contrasted with pastel print designs with hand drawn detailing. It’s all in the detail!

My dream for the brand is:
World domination would be nice. But really my main focus right now is building a brand that I am proud of. I would also love to gain more stockists across Australia. The biggest hurdle as an emerging designer is to have a point of difference, to stand out and reach the people who want to wear your designs. I just want to make clothes that are fun and make women feel good!
I predict the biggest trend this year will be?
I think fashion and trends today are the most open to interpretation that they have ever been. People are not following trends so carefully anymore; it is more about finding what pieces excite you and making them work with your own personal style. Also, positive body image is so important in the fashion world at the moment as the industry is becoming more inclusive and aware of its influence. We are being encouraged now to stay true to who we are and own it. What better way to express that than through the clothes you put on your body! In saying that I think we will also see a continuation on the sports luxe/athleisure trend- it is here for the long haul, and a clever twist on layering.
