1. What is going on at the fair?

Runway Shows

Exhibitor Runway Shows will be held daily during the Fair. Shows run for approximately 20 minutes. Attendance is free, however seating is limited. For more information click here.

Created for new and emerging Australian and New Zealand designers, debut is a new showcase and competition that encompasses every major category of contemporary fashion as well as accessories ranging from bags to millinery and jewellery. Each season, the categories Best Apparel Collection, Best Accessory and Best Avant Garde Single Garment are showcased at the Fair. Click here to view more details

2. When is the fair open?

Sunday 14 September 2008 10am – 6pm
Monday 15 September 2008 9am – 5pm
Tuesday 16 September 2008 9am – 4pm

3. Who can attend?

FASHION EXPOSED is a trade only event. As this is a business event, entry is restricted to persons involved in the fashion industry and over the age of 16. Registrations will require business identification.

Final year Students enrolled in fashion studies at a tertiary level may attend the Fair after 1.00pm on Tuesday 16 September 2008 only. Students are not required to register. Course Administrators must apply in writing to the Organiser prior to the event in order to bring class groups to the Fair. Email fashion@aec.net.au Student passes are issued onsite from the Registration Desk.

4. How much does it cost to attend?

Once registered as a bone fide trade visitor, attendance is free.

5. What sort of ranges will I see?

You will see thousands of new & well established labels of the broadest ranges including accessories, activewear, belts, bridal/eveningwear, boutique childrenswear, boutique womenswear, casual lifestylewear, childrenswear, classic & directional menswear, denim, eyewear, footwear, soft furnishings, handbags, hats, homewares, hosiery, infantwear, intimate apparel, jewellery, licensed apparel, luggage, manchester, retail services, sportswear, streetwear, surfwear, swimwear, ties, urbanwear and womenswear.

6. Do I need to register to attend as a visitor?

Yes, all visitors must register if they are wanting to attend the Trade Fair. Registration can be done online. Alternatively complete the registration form attached to your Trade Invitation and return by fax to 03 9654 5596.  If you do not have a Trade Invitation tel 03 9654 7773 and one will be sent to you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION Visitor Access Cards from previous Fairs are no longer valid. You will need to re-register to receive a new Visitor Access Card valid for all 2008 Fairs.

7. What happens when I register?

If you register online you will receive an emailed confirmation that gives you a summary of your registered details as well as your registration identification number. Once you are verified as a relevant Trade Visitor, your Visitor Access Card with be mailed approximately 2 weeks prior to the Fair.

If you fax us your registration – your registration will be processed and your Visitor Access Card will be mailed approximately 2 weeks prior to the Fair.

8. Can I change my registration details or check my details?

Yes, if you need to check what details have been registered please telephone the FASHION EXPOSED Visitor Info Line on 1300 727 430.  Your registration can also be altered onsite at the registration desk at the entrance to the Fair.

9. When can I expect my Visitor Access Card?

Visitor Access Cards will be mailed from mid August 2008. If your registration is received prior to 1 September 2008 your Visitor Access Card will be mailed to you, otherwise you can collect the card at the onsite registration desk when you arrive at the Fair.
Visitor Access Cards from the 2007 Fairs are not valid for the 2008 Fairs.

10. What if the name or company on my card is not correct?

If your card contains incorrect information bring it along to the registration desk at the entrance to the Fair where the operators can print a new card for you on the spot at no charge.

11. What if I forget my card?

Registered visitors may obtain replacement cards at the registration desk at the Fair without filling out another registration form. You will already be on our database. Simply bring business identification with you.

You can also bring your printed registration to the Fair and collect your Visitor Access Card by scanning the barcode at the e-Badge Desk.

12. Can I still attend if I have not registered before arriving?

Yes, you are welcome to register at the onsite registration counter at the entrance to the Fair. We recommend pre-registrations so that you can avoid any queues. All registrations will require business identification.

13. What do I need to bring as business identification?

Relevant identification includes: business card, letterhead or company documentation containing your company ABN. You may also be asked for personal identification such as a drivers licence to substantiate your identification.

14. Can students attend?

FASHION EXPOSED is being held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Southbank. It is centrally located across the road from the Crown Casino Complex within 500 metres of the Melbourne central business district and is well served by public transport.

The Melbourne Exhibition Centre is centrally located across the road from the Crown Casino Complex within 500 metres of the Melbourne central business district and is well served by public transport.

CAR PARKING
1060 undercover parking spaces available underneath the Venue.
Enter via Normanby Road.

TRAMS
There is a tram stop at the entrance to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
Tram Nos. 12, 96, 109 travel along Clarendon Street from South Melbourne, Port Melbourne and St Kilda and service the CBD via Collins and Bourke Streets.
Trams run every 6-8 minutes during peak times, 7.00am - 9.00am and 4.00pm - 6.00pm and every 10-12 minutes between 9.00am and 4.00pm.

TRAINS
Southern Cross Station (formerly Spencer Street Station) is just a short stroll from the Melbourne Centre. The Dandenong, Frankston, Belgrave, Lilydale and Sandringham lines run every 15 minutes and St Albans, Williamstown, Werribee, Upfield, Epping and Eltham run every 20 minutes.

TAXIS
Taxi ranks are located at the doors to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre as well as all major hotels, Crown Entertainment Complex (across the road from the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre) and Southern Cross (formerly Spencer Street Station) and Flinders Street Stations. 21. Do I need a Visa to visit Australia?

Most International visitors to Australia will require a Visa to enter the country. For Government details on Visas visit Australian Government Immigration site at www.immi.gov.au. Remember if you need to make a Visa Application make sure you do so well in advance as there is usually a processing period involved.
