HuToPa design and create a range of lightweight canvas shoes known as alpargatas, derived from the French “espadrille” that travelled to Argentina in the early 19th century, brought by settlers from the Basque country. There the shoes have become very popular and now are worn by “Gauchos” in the pampas as well as fashionistas in the city alike.
